How We Help
Trees of Hope has supported the children's programs at Star of Hope since 1990. Financially through their Children's Critical Care Fund, as well as through programs designed to support the children and mothers residing at the facility.
GALA
Trees of Hope hosts an annual Gala in early November. This event is attended by over 300 people and includes a silent auction, dinner, presentations, live auction, and dancing. A feature of the silent auction is 20+ beautifully decorated Christmas trees, each with accompanying items based on a theme.
The money raised from this event goes to the exclusive benefit of Star of Hope children's programs and their Children's Critical Care Fund.
Back to
School Shoes
Biannually, in January and August, Trees of Hope members receive a shopping list of needed shoes for all the children at Star of Hope.
Volunteers spend an afternoon selecting shoes from Academy to create a special ‘shoe store’ at the Star of Hope facility.
Members then assist the resident children in sizing and selecting their new shoes. While the kids wait, they enjoy an art project and lunch special delivered from Raising Cane's.
MOMS
MATTER
Each year, more than 50 mothers residing at Star of Hope’s Transitional Living Center are treated to entertainment, gifts, and refreshments.
Together, the Trees of Hope Board of Trustees and members create a memorable Mother’s Day for the mothers who are working diligently towards a better life for themselves and their children.
Our Moms Matter campaign features a gift that can be purchased, with proceeds going towards this special Mother’s Day event.
TOY
STORE
For the past ten years, Trees of Hope has volunteered and stocked toys for the Star of Hope Women & Family Emergency Shelter toy store.
The toy store holds brand-new toys that have been donated to the mission for children to receive for free upon arrival or for special occasions.
Together with community partners, children at Star of Hope have a special place to go to find just the right toy.
